Unwanted body hair can be uncomfortable and embarrassing. Temporary hair removal options (shaving, waxing and depilatories) are fine for some people, but can cause bumps, ingrown hairs, rashes and redness. If you seek a longer term, easier solution, then laser hair removal might be the answer for you.
We are happy to offer our patients laser hair removal at our Beverly Hills med spa with the Lumenis LightSheer, the gold standard in laser hair removal.
The Lumenis Lightsheer laser emits a beam of light targeted at the dark pigment in hair, destroying the follicle and its ability to produce hair without affecting the skin.
You'll need 6-8 laser hair removal treatments at four week intervals for best results.
First we give you safety eyewear to protect your eyes during the procedure from the laser's light.
The laser is guided over the area where the hair is to be removed. Most patients experience little discomfort at the treatment site because of the dynamic cooling device.
While most people do find our Beverly Hills laser hair removal treatment comfortable, for added ease, we can pre-apply a topical anesthetic.
The procedure can take as little as 5 minutes or up to an hour, depending on the size of the area treated. You can go home immediately following treatment.
The treated area may become pink or red within about 30 minutes of treatment; this may last from a few hours to several days.
Do not tweeze, wax, use a depilatory or undergo electrolysis in the areas you wish to have treated for 6 weeks prior to laser hair removal.
Do not tan the treatment areas for 4 weeks prior to laser hair removal.
Avoid using self-tanning products for 2 weeks prior to treatment.
Shave the treatment area the night before your appointment
