The nipple also moves upward, which creates a perkier, younger-looking breast.
This technique typically uses a “lollipop” incision, placed around the areola and extending vertically underneath the breast. If a large amount of tissue and skin needs to be removed, an anchor incision may be used, which adds a line along the natural breast crease.
The Pocket Lift: A Revolutionary Approach to Breast Reduction
Dr. Cassileth pioneered the Pocket Lift to create natural upper breast fullness in breast reduction surgery without implants. Many women with heavy, pendulous breasts are told they need implants with their reduction to gain that fullness. However, her technique uses your own breast tissue instead.
