About the practice

4 questions

Where is Cassileth Plastic Surgery located, and what are the office hours?

436 N Bedford Drive, Suite 103, Beverly Hills, CA 90210, one block from Rodeo Drive. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. Validated parking is available in the building garage.

How is the practice different from a hospital surgical group?

Every surgery happens in our own physician-owned, AAAHC-accredited surgery center. The surgical team is dedicated to plastic and reconstructive procedures only. No rotating hospital staff, no unfamiliar faces, and no fighting for OR time. The center has been recognized by Newsweek as one of the top independent surgery centers in California.

How is The Practice Healthcare related to Cassileth Plastic Surgery?

Cassileth Plastic Surgery is the surgical practice. The Practice Healthcare is the broader brand Dr. Cassileth founded, which also includes wellness, MedSpa, gynecology, and other specialties. Bedford Breast Center, co-founded with Dr. Leslie Memsic, handles the diagnostic side and refers reconstruction cases directly.

What services does The Practice Healthcare offer beyond surgery?

The Practice Healthcare brings several specialties under one roof. Wellness and longevity includes hormone optimization, weight management, IV therapy, and regenerative medicine. The MedSpa offers injectables, lasers, microneedling, and skin treatments. Gynecology and women's health is led by Dr. Nelli Ghazaryan. Bedford Breast Center handles breast imaging, genetic testing, and diagnostic care. Surgical recovery is coordinated across all of these so your care stays in one place.

Consultations

6 questions

How do I schedule a consultation?

Use the consultation request form on the Contact page or call 310-278-8200. We respond within one business day.

What happens during a consultation?

You meet with Dr. Cassileth or one of the team's surgeons. We review your goals, evaluate your anatomy, walk through the relevant procedure options, and answer questions. For surgical cases, you also receive a written estimate of out-of-pocket costs before scheduling anything.

Are virtual consultations available?

Yes. For patients traveling from out of state or internationally, we run virtual consultations via secure video. You upload photos in advance, we discuss your goals on the call, and we build a preliminary plan before you arrive.

Do you charge a consultation fee?

Consultation fees vary by surgeon and case type. The fee is disclosed when scheduling and is typically credited toward the procedure if you move forward.

Can I get a second opinion?

Yes. Dr. Cassileth regularly sees patients seeking a second opinion, particularly on complex revision cases. Bring any prior surgical records, imaging, and operative reports if you have them.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early with a valid photo ID, your insurance information, and any paperwork sent to you ahead of time. For surgical consultations, bring prior operative reports, imaging, and pathology if you have them. At check-in, reception will direct you to the correct suite for your visit.

Insurance & cost

4 questions

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, for procedures that qualify. Breast reconstruction after mastectomy is federally mandated to be covered. Other medically necessary procedures (breast reduction with documented symptoms, capsular contracture, certain explants, diastasis recti repair, upper eyelid surgery for vision impairment, functional rhinoplasty) often qualify. Our Patient Advocacy team verifies your benefits before scheduling and handles the entire authorization process.

How does the Patient Advocacy team work?

A dedicated team verifies coverage, secures pre-authorization, fights denied claims, and provides written estimates of out-of-pocket costs before your procedure. The detail is on the Financing & Insurance page.

Are breast imaging and genetic testing covered?

Mammography and breast imaging are typically covered when medically indicated, and genetic testing and screening may qualify when there is a clinical reason. Bedford Breast Center handles the diagnostic side, and our Patient Advocacy team confirms what your plan covers before anything is scheduled.

What financing options are available for cosmetic procedures?

Cosmetic procedures are generally not covered by insurance. For these cases we provide transparent pricing and self-pay options, and we work with CareCredit, Alphaeon Credit, and Cherry for financing. Promotional rates are often available. Details on the Financing page.

Surgery & recovery

6 questions

How long does recovery take?

It depends on the procedure. Most patients return to desk work within two weeks and resume full activity at six. Aftercare services (lymphatic drainage, hyperbaric oxygen, IV therapy, peptides, red light, compression) accelerate recovery and reduce complications. The procedure detail page for your specific case has more.

Where do I recover after surgery?

Most patients go home the same day with 24/7 access to the care team. For patients who want additional support, we coordinate with local recovery facilities (private suites with nursing staff for the first 24–72 hours), in-home licensed nursing visits, and concierge aftercare with our nurse practitioners.

Can multiple procedures be combined?

Often yes, when it's medically appropriate and the surgical time stays within safe limits. Combinations are evaluated case by case. Body and breast procedures are commonly combined; complex face work usually stands alone.

Will Dr. Cassileth personally perform my surgery?

Dr. Cassileth focuses on breast reconstruction, revision, and the complex cases other surgeons decline. The practice also includes fellowship-trained surgeons Dr. Kelly Killeen, Dr. Omar Hussain, and Dr. Beina Azadgoli. During your consultation you are matched with the surgeon best suited to your case, and you will know who is performing your procedure before you schedule it.

How is anesthesia handled, and is the surgery center safe?

Every surgery takes place in our own accredited, physician-owned surgery center, recognized by Newsweek as one of the top independent surgery centers in California. Anesthesia is administered and monitored by a licensed anesthesia provider, with continuous in-house monitoring through recovery. Infection control protocols are maintained to the highest standard and staff are regularly re-trained in them.

I traveled to Beverly Hills for surgery. How long should I stay?

Most patients stay 5–7 days post-surgery for follow-up care. The Practice has relationships with the Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills (steps from our office) and with Immortelle Health, a 5-star post-surgery care provider inside the Four Seasons.

Photos & privacy

2 questions

Will my before-and-after photos be used publicly?

Only with your written consent. Many patients in the gallery requested their photos be shown to help others; many more cases are photographed for our internal records only. You decide what is shown.

How private is the practice?

Discretion is built into the patient flow — private check-in, separate consult and recovery rooms, and standing relationships with security and venue partners for celebrity and high-profile patients.
