Types Of Breast Lifts Explained

Okay ladies, here’s what you need to know about breast lifts.

A breast lift (mastopexy) is not your regular ‘boob job’ (breast augmentation). Traditional breast lifts (mastopexies) use the skin to lift the breasts, creating wide scars. The breasts then begin to droop again in a matter of weeks. Using an innovative “auto-augmentation” technique, Cassileth Plastic Surgery’s doctors use the patient’s own breast tissue to recreate full breasts in their restored position. A lot of women who have saggy or smaller breasts and want them to look fuller undergo surgery to get the look and feel desired, or possibly they want more fullness after giving birth and breastfeeding cute little baby biters who have deflated what once was. But, what if you already have big bazookas and are tired of the weight? Perhaps your breasts are smaller, deflated, droopy or appear hollow? And, what if your knockers are now facing south, defying your bra by not holding up and have lost their beautiful appearance? Many patients just want their own breasts back. What if boobs are possibly even causing you back pain? It’s hard enough balancing in your favorite sexy stilettos or flip flops, just be careful not to topple over! Whatever the size of our attached bottles, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel TV character reminds us to get out there, look alive, and be confident, so girls, “Tits Up!”

Life can get hectic with motherhood, career, and we may or may not put everyone else first, while delaying taking care of ourselves. Calm your tits, It’s common. It’s often what (some) women do, and we may have stretched ourselves into pancakes while multitasking. But life is all about balance, and living a healthy and happy lifestyle. Having proportionate breasts on your body helps with that. Whatever your specific case may be, a breast lift may also be the perfect solution to having a more youthful appearance. But you should know, a breast lift is also a much more in-depth procedure than a normal ‘boob job”, so here are a few things you may want to know.

First thing is this. When is NOW a good time to have a Breast Lift?
There is no easy way to spill the tea, so here it is. Yes, the nipple will be cut off and repositioned higher. Gasp. It’s okay! Yes, you can still breastfeed, have romantic evenings, or even go on vacation to Mardi Gras and earn some beads. An implant can be placed if a larger breast is desired. However, an extremely large implant should not be used just to try to “fill up” a loose skin as this ultimately results in hanging, large, uneven droopy breasts. Also, there may be scarring. Don’t panic. Our doctors insist that all patients undergo a six-month scar treatment regimen to minimize all scars. How cool is that?

The cuts! Yes, the T incision will go around the outside coloring of your nipple, down the breast, and along the underside of your cup. There are a lot of options to prevent scarring. And you might have drains, which are tubes coming out of the breasts post surgery to drain fluid. Plan on relaxing at home the first two days after your surgery. You will be in a comfortable surgical bra that has adjustable straps. It’s not cute, those bras come later. You may take pain medication during this period of time, but most women experience minimal soreness. After the first few days, most women are up and around, off all prescription pain medication, and usually have resumed activities. However, it is important to avoid all exercise, heavy lifting, and other more strenuous activities for the first three weeks.

If you go to work because you are a badass too, expect to be more tired during the first week and sore by the end of the day. If your work involves a lot of moving of your upper body, take the whole first week off and Netflix and Chill. Yes. The best part! While healing there will be no laundry, pets, lifting, work, exercise or cooking, you only need rest. The drains will be removed, swelling will go down, and after a couple weeks of chilling out, you can get back out to your life. A new array of techniques for advanced internal lifting have beautiful results.

Once you make an appointment, you will discuss with Cassileth’s Plastic Surgeons options on using implants with your procedure, or going without and using your own breast tissue. Your desired results of shapely feminine breasts depend on the individual options of the patient, so those will be specific to your body and discussed during your consultation, which you can book now. Isn’t it time to put yourself first for a moment?

WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT. THERE ARE A VARIETY OF BREAST LIFTS THE DOCTOR WILL DISCUSS:

CIRCUMAREOLAR MASTOPEXY – Using a scar only around the areola, the nipple is lifted into a higher position. The scar is hidden in a at the natural border of the areola.
VERTICAL MASTOPEXY – Also called a “lollipop” scar, the vertical mastopexy both raises the nipple and tightens the bottom of the breast.
∙ ANCHOR MASTOPEXY – A powerful lift that makes larger, droopy breasts tighter in every dimension.
∙ The YOU are MAMA-SEXY- A specific lift created for you.
