Loose skin and stubborn fat can prevent a slim and trim look, even in people who are not generally overweight. At Cassileth Plastic Surgery and Skin Care, we have three radiofrequency energy-based treatments that can help: FaceTite®, BodyTite®, and AccuTite®. Our Los Angeles-based providers use this FDA-cleared technology to stimulate tissue-firming collagen production, contract lax skin, and coagulate fat without traditional surgery.
Patients who want nothing more than a minimally invasive treatment can choose FaceTite®, BodyTite®, or AccuTite® alone. Others may combine the slimming effects with a surgical procedure, such as liposuction, to enhance their final results.
FaceTite® sends radiofrequency energy beneath the skin's surface for a tightening effect, typically on the lower half of the face. Recovery time is much shorter than with surgical skin-tightening procedures—usually three to four days of downtime—with no stitches or visible scars. The procedure stimulates collagen over time, but FaceTite® patients may see some results within a week or sooner.
Some people feel that minimally invasive three-dimensional remodeling is the next best thing to a facelift. However, while FaceTite® can deliver beautiful results, it cannot replicate the long-lasting and more dramatic results of surgery.
FaceTite® can pair with surgical fat reduction on the neck and jowls for radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis, which provides more significant results than either options alone. Our office pairs the FaceTite® procedure with Morpheus8 RF microneedling to stimulate collagen and elastin production in the epidermis.
A FaceTite® procedure is usually performed with local anesthesia, so patients experience little to no pain or discomfort.
As the names suggest, FaceTite® is for contouring tissues above the neck, while BodyTite® addresses laxity and fat on the neck, arms, thighs, abdomen, buttocks, knees, and breasts. The principle is the same: Directional radiofrequency energy remodels the treatment area in three dimensions by coagulating fat and heating tissues to prompt collagen production. Liquefied fat can be more easily removed with a thin cannula used in surgical procedures.
Also like FaceTite®, BodyTite® can provide modest results on its own or amplify the effects of liposuction or other RF collagen-induction treatments. BodyTite® as a standalone procedure is ideal for people who want to tighten loose skin, but who have very little fat to remove.
Ideal candidates are women and men in their 30s to 50s, with mild to moderate skin laxity.
Created to get RF energy into "hard-to-reach" areas of the body, AccuTite® allows physicians to use a very small wand with pinpoint accuracy. AccuTite® can be used on any areas of the face or body that have saggy skin or excess fat. Commonly treated facial features include the brows, the area around the eyes, the region next to and beside the mouth and nose (where nasolabial folds form), and the lower face. Farther down, AccuTite® is frequently applied to the neck, the underarm area, the upper arms, the abdomen (for "etching" the look of sculpted abs), the inner thighs, and the knees.
