How Long Does a Breast Lift Last?

The longevity of a breast lift can vary depending on several factors, including the technique used, individual healing processes, lifestyle factors, and aging. Sadly, a traditional breast lift only lasts about five years, so it’s important to recognize before your surgery that the results aren’t permanent.

Over time, the effects of gravity, natural aging, changes in weight, and hormonal fluctuations can impact the breasts, potentially leading to some degree of sagging. Factors like pregnancy and breastfeeding can also affect the results of a breast lift.

While a breast lift doesn’t stop the natural aging process, it can significantly improve the appearance of sagging breasts and provide beautiful results. It’s essential to consult with a qualified plastic surgeon to understand the potential outcomes and longevity of a breast lift based on your circumstances. They can provide personalized recommendations and discuss realistic expectations for your desired results.

I knew there had to be a better solution for longer-lasting results, which led me to create the Pocket Lift technique. Unlike traditional breast lift surgery, the Pocket Lift offers greater longevity, with results lasting ten years or more.

What is the Pocket Lift?

I developed the pocket lift technique to address the limitations of traditional breast lifts and provide longer-lasting outcomes. The Pocket Lift separates the bulk of the breast into a pocket that holds the weight in place, supported by absorbable Galaflex mesh. The mesh is great because the body’s own supportive fibers replace it, so there is no permanent foreign body.

After performing a Pocket Lift, my breast radiologists say that the breast looks like “normal tissue supported in an internal bra,” which I love to hear because that was my intention!

Advantages of the Pocket Lift

  • Extended Longevity: The Galaflex mesh provides a supportive framework that contributes to the Pocket Lift’s durability, with results lasting a decade or more.
  • Natural Appearance: This technique aims to mimic the appearance of natural breast tissue supported by an internal bra. The aesthetic appearance is a youthful, natural-looking breast contour.
  • Scar Healing: With the weight of the breast supported by the mesh bra, rather than solely relying on the skin, scars from the surgery tend to heal much better.

This technique represents a significant advancement in the world of breast lifts with its innovative approach and aesthetic advantages.
